Cedar Valley Soccer Officials Association

Our Purpose

The CVSOA exists to develop and support soccer referees in the Cedar Valley.

The Cedar Valley Soccer Officials Association was formed in 1994 to organize and support officials for all of the different soccer opportunities across northeast Iowa, especially those near the Waterloo---Cedar Falls metro area. As the game grows, so do we. We include referees of all ages and levels of experience, and help develop people to officiate soccer: indoors and outdoors; youth and adult; recreational and competitive.

The CVSOA is funded by the Cedar Valley Soccer Club, and many of our members start their careers by working recreational games for CVSC. All soccer referees in the Cedar Valley area are considered members just by working games. Our members are certified by the United States Soccer Foundation, the Iowa High School Athletic Association, the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union, the National Intercollegiate Soccer Officials Association, and other groups depending on the types of matches they work. Mostly, the CVSOA is a way for officials in the area to work and grow together. We are affiliated with the Iowa Referee Committee, and the United States Soccer Foundation Referee Program.
