HS Officials Recruiting Fair

Please invite a friend, colleague, former teammate, student, or community member who would make a great additiion to the officiating community to attend the first-ever IGHSAU/IHSAA Online Recruiting Fair on Wednesday, October 14, from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m.

Officiating educational-based activities offers a rewarding way to stay connected to the sports you love, make a positive difference for students and schools, serve your community, develop leadership and communication skills, earn additional income, and build lasting relationships with fellow officials.

This webinar will focus primarily on recruiting officials for the winter sports of basketball, wrestling, and swimming; however, anyone interested in officiating any sport is welcome to join the online presentation. A future online recruiting fair will be held in late winter for prospective soccer, track and field, softball, and baseball officials.

During the fair:

• Current officials will share why they officiate and what they value most about the experience.

• IGHSAU and IHSAA staff will explain the process of becoming a registered official through the DragonFly system.

• Local officials’ association representatives and assigners will provide insight, answer questions, and help prospective officials take the next step.

As an added incentive, at the conclusion of the recruiting fair, the first 30 attendees to register as officials will have their registration fee waived for the 2026-2027 school year.
